Can you believe we're already halfway through 2024? We’re super excited to share all the awesome stuff we’ve accomplished so far. Thanks to your enthusiasm and support, we’ve had a fantastic few months filled with amazing events, inspiring speakers, and some big wins. Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to:
Informative Speakers & Events
Our meetings have been packed with incredible speakers who brought tons of valuable insights and expertise to our community:
- Deana Ivey wowed us with her deep knowledge of Nashville tourism and the exciting events planned by Visit Music City.
- Suzanne Castle blew us away with her innovative leadership approaches and practical tips for managing workload pressures, prioritizing self-care, and building a resilient mindset.
- Haley McIntyre gave us a fantastic overview of GBTA Ladders and WINiT.
- John Sage shared his unique perspective on the 6 Myths of Accessible Travel.
- Josh Powell from MNAA gave us an enlightening look at the BNA vision, which was a real highlight of our meeting.
GBTA Tennessee's Advocacy and Leadership at the Summits
- GBTA Leadership Summit 2024: Our chapter reps gained awesome leadership skills, networked with industry peers, and brought back fresh ideas to boost our local initiatives.
- GBTA Legislative Summit 2024: We actively engaged with policymakers, advocating for the business travel industry and making sure our members' voices were heard on important issues.
Successful Chapter Initiatives
- GBTA Tennessee Travel Buyers Business Roundtable: We kicked off this initiative to give travel buyers a dedicated space to discuss best practices, challenges, and innovative solutions. It’s already been a hit with great participation and honest, insightful discussions.
- Connections and Coffee O'Clock: These informal networking events have quickly become a favorite among our members, offering a relaxed environment to connect, share experiences, and build professional relationships.
Looking ahead
- GBTA Convention in Atlanta: We’re gearing up for this major event where we’ll connect with industry leaders, attend cutting-edge sessions, and bring back the latest trends and insights to our chapter.
- September Chapter Meeting in Chattanooga: Mark your calendars for our September meeting in Chattanooga. We’re excited for another road trip to East Tennessee for an engaging session with dynamic speakers and networking opportunities with our business travel peers in Chattanooga.
- Board Elections and Annual Fundraiser: We’re planning for our upcoming board elections and our annual scholarship fundraiser. These events are key to the continued success and growth of our chapter.
- Celebrating 30 Years: This year marks the 30th anniversary of GBTA Tennessee. We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone with you and reflect on three decades of achievements and community building.
- Three Chapter Meetings Left: With dynamic speakers covering topics like The Impact of AI and the Influence of Gen Y and Z on Business Travel.
