GBTA | Tennessee - Peace, Love, Cheer and Happy New Year
Reflecting on a Remarkable Year
As we kick off 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we experienced at GBTA Tennessee and to express my gratitude as I step down as President. It has truly been an honor to serve this amazing organization, and I am thrilled about the future under the leadership of our new president, Ronni Anderson, and the 2025-26 Board of Directors.
Similar to the first half of the year, the second half was also filled with remarkable highlights that demonstrated the strength, dedication, and passion of our chapter:
Engagement at GBTA Convention

• GBTA Convention in Atlanta – We represented Tennessee with pride, engaging in global conversations and forging valuable connections.
Advancing Knowledge Through Education

• Our AI panel featuring industry leaders from Southwest Airlines, World Travel Service, and Marriott International brought cutting-edge insights.
• A fantastic meeting hosted in Chattanooga with the support of the Chattanooga Tourism Co., featuring speakers from the Tennessee Aquarium and Flight Park.
• An engaging session by Tim Hines on the Gen Y and Z impact on Business Travel, highlighting how the future workforce will transform our industry.
Annual Scholarship Fundraiser

Not only did we break our fundraising goal, but we also celebrated GBTA Tennessee’s 30th Anniversary in true 90s style, complete with pop culture costumes and unforgettable fun.
Building Meaningful Member Connections

From Hotel Chalet in Chattanooga to our holiday party at Mint House at the Reserve in Nashville, to hosting a WINiT networking event, we built connections that matter. Who can forget stealing those Snoop Dogg sweaters?
Staying Connected Through Coffee O’Clock
• Whether in person or virtual, these gatherings continued to keep us connected, caffeinated, and inspired.
Showcasing Nashville at the CPC Meeting
• Q4 GBTA Chapter Presidents Council Meeting – Hosting this meeting in Nashville was a proud moment for us. We showcased our vibrant city and chapter with the help of Visit Nashville and our members. A special shout-out to all who contributed to the incredible hospitality and the #swagforthebag!
Celebrating our Collective Success
Throughout this journey, I’ve been reminded of one essential truth: An organization is the sum of all its parts. The success of GBTA Tennessee stems from the dedication of our members, the commitment of our board, and the generosity of our sponsors. Thank you for your unwavering support, hard work, and belief in our mission. When this group comes together, magic happens.
Gratitude to the Outgoing Board
To the outgoing board: Your contributions over the past two years have been extraordinary. Together, we’ve advocated for our industry, championed education, built meaningful connections, and celebrated both personal and professional successes. The friendships we’ve formed and the life milestones we’ve shared along the way are etched in my heart. Your dedication and passion have left an indelible mark, and it’s been an honor to serve alongside you.
Excitement for the New Board
To the new board: I am so excited to see where your fabulous leadership takes us. Ronni will lead with energy and grace, and her extensive connections, paired with her passion for advocacy, makes her an incredible force. I’m thrilled to join the past presidents in supporting her as she brings her amazing ideas to fruition. With your vision and energy, the future is incredibly bright.
Looking Ahead with Gratitude
As I sign off, know that I will always cherish the relationships, experiences, and progress we’ve achieved together. It has been my honor to lead and connect with each of you. Here’s to the continued forward movement of GBTA Tennessee!
