GBTA | Tennessee 2026 SCHOLARSHIPS

APPLY BY December 23, 2025. 

I. Purpose

Part of the GBTA | Tennessee mission statement is to provide avenues for advancement in the travel industry for its members. All scholarship funds will be used to support the professional advancement/development of GBTA | Tennessee members. 

All scholarships awarded in 2026 must be used within the calendar year 2026. 

II. The Program

A. Types of Scholarship

• GBTA | Tennessee Annual Membership or Renewal – Scholarship will provide $175 to renew the recipient's current membership for 2026. This is membership fee only, you are still responsible for the $40 monthly meeting fee.  Click here to learn more about GBTA - Tennessee Membership.
  
  
• GBTA All Access Membership – Scholarship will provide up to $545 for the recipient to join GBTA or renew their current membership for 2026.  Click here to learn more about GBTA All Access membership.
  
  
• GBTA 2026 Annual Convention Registration Fee – Scholarship will provide the recipient up to $1,800 towards the registration fee to attend the 2026 GBTA Convention August 3-5 in Chicago, Illinois   Click here to learn more about GBTA Convention 2026.
  
  
• GBTA Fundamentals of Business Travel Management Certificate  - Scholarship provides the recipient up to $295  to gain this certificate. Scholarship excludes transportation and housing if you choose to complete this course in person. Click here for more information.
  
  
• GBTA Fundamentals of Strategic Meetings Management Certificate - Scholarship provides the recipient up to $450 to gain this certificate. Scholarship excludes transportation and housing if you choose to complete this course in person. Click here for more information.
  
  
• GTP Examination Registration - Scholarship provides the recipient up to $450 to sit for this exam. Click here for GTP information.
  
  
• GBTA Legislative Symposium Registration - Scholarship provides the recipient full registration and housing to attend this exciting event in Washington, DC (Date tentative June 2026). B. Timeframe

• Scholarship applications must be submitted by December 23, 2025.
• Winners will be announced at the January 13, 2026 GBTA | Tennessee Chapter Meeting.

III. Eligibility Requirements

A. Applicant must be a GBTA | Tennessee member in good standing.
B. Applicant must comply with all schedules and requirements pertaining to the scholarship application process.
C. Members of the GBTA | Tennessee Board are eligible to apply and receive scholarships, but if they apply, may not participate in any way in the decision making process.
D. Applicants must be a GBTA | Tennessee member and must retain GBTA | Tennessee membership throughout the grant period.
E. Applicant’s company must certify that it endorses the applicant and will allow the applicant necessary time and additional funding, if necessary, to attend the courses or programs.
F. Applicant must comply with all schedules and requirements pertaining to the scholarship application process.

IV. Application Process
A. Application Procedure

1. Complete the online application by December 23, 2025.  

2. Include a brief summary of how this scholarship will benefit you.

3. Only electronic application submissions will be accepted. Supporting documents can be scanned.

B. Review and Selection

1. Applications are treated as privileged communication and are restricted to the review of the GBTA | Tennessee Board of Directors.

2. The decision to grant or not grant a scholarship rests within the sole discretion of the GBTA | Tennessee Board of Directors and shall be final and binding and not subject to challenge.
 

V. Payment of Scholarship

All fees will be paid directly to the qualified program and/or institution, or in the case of a partial payment of the full amount, the fee will be paid to the scholarship winner upon receipt of proof of payment.
