The Business Travel Industry is Strong.

The Travel Industry is Everchanging, Dynamic and Impactful. An Effective Advocate in Washington and worldwide is a must for the industry.

Today, we are all experiencing the same traits of our industry from effect of COVID-19. Day to day, from the news or daily activities have been Everchanging, it is Dynamic and has Impacted us all. Personally and professionally. The CARES Act will make a difference for the travel industry. Predicted employment loss in the Travel and Tourism Industry in the U.S. is over 6 millon. 

The GBTA Government Relations team will give an inside look of the CARES Act and other legislative issues impacting travel programs, hospitality, and travel in general. Politics and government relations can be exhausting, yet Instead of just shaking your head and turning the channel, you need to be educated as to how this is impacting your job. We want you to have the latest of all that is here for you.

GBTA advocates to so much more than just the Legislative side to make a difference to our industry. Gain the latest updates of the organization including GBTA Resources, GBTA Committees, and general updates of their work for the Business Travel Industry.

Shane Downey is the Vice President of Government Relations for the Global Business Travel Association.  In this role, Shane oversees GBTA’s lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, the countrywide grassroots campaign, and the Business Travel PAC. Shane comes to GBTA with over 11 years of government affairs experience.  Prior to joining GBTA, Shane was a Senior Associate at a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C.
